Hello! I'm Kristen
I'm a recovering perfectionist and a book addict. Seriously, it's a problem. Dark fiction is my passion. I am captivated by by the raw emotion, intricate tension, and the beautiful, unsettling truths found in the darker corners of the human experience. I love all things horror, weird, creepy and paranormal. You can usually find me with my nose in some sort of twisted psychological thriller. I'm a mom, a textbook Pisces and introverted down to my very soul. I have 6 cats and a garden full of sage and hot peppers. The moon guides my life and fall is my favorite season. Halloween decor is just my regular home decor and Pumpkin Spice everything for me, please!
I've always been "particular"
I think it all began in a trailer kitchen in 1994. Video evidence from one of those creepy VHS tapes showcases myself pushing a chair up to the kitchen counter to create my first masterpiece - the perfect bologna sandwich. I could be seen placing the slices of wonder bread "just so" before delicately spreading mayonnaise over each slice and ever so gently placing a slice of bologna on top. After topping the bologna side with the second slice of bread, I would then gently pat the sandwich together and revel in awe at the beauty that was, the perfectly prepared bologna sandwich. Needless to say, I've always been a perfectionist, even in the mundane things in life.
Experience
I have 30+ years experience in critiquing everything from the proper construction of bologna sandwiches, to proposal letters for private institutions. My most recent project was completing a full copyedit and proofread of a medical company's proposal for launching virtual appointments. My man may not love it when I point out errors in the restaurant menu, but his loss is your gain. I have found the perfect career path for what my mother calls my "particular" behavior.
